Do you need to use high heels? The same day you would like to use flat shoes? Well, the world of shoe design is always working for you. Now you can switch styles with the flick of the heel with convertible high heels.
And this initiative isn't just style related. In fact these shoes are created to reduce the accidents caused by DWWH (driving while wearing heels). So as you see, this is more than a frivolous idea.
One brand that is starting this whole idea is CamiLeon Shoes. , who in their website claim to be the "First in Adjustable-Height High Heels". Other brand that is revolutionizing the market is Sheilas, with their Sheila Driving Heel. This is what they have to say at their website:

I really like the idea, both esthetic and functional, like all good design. By the way a similar idea was proposed by designer Marte den Hollander back in 2006, where he was recognized as the best graduate. He designed the shoes Footloose, that also converted from high-heel to low-heel easily. This is his design.

It's ugly! I like the telescope shoe better the one by the space age writer vanna bonta
I'll have to try it to figure out the pros and cons of this shoe. Obviously, the idea is appealing, but there could be set-backs. Still, it's very intriguing, and if there aren't any kinks in the design, I'm sure the shoe will be one of the most coveted designs for a while to come.
I do enjoy a stable stilleto not to mention the flirty flat. To have both in one shoe? That's a mastercard commercial if I've ever seen one! Histilleto has a point. The heel does disfigure, and that is not accounted for. I believe the idea is insane yet ingenious. The execution may need more detail, but I encourage the excited spirit!
These shoes are very interesting. My girlfriend loves the idea and she bought one; the choice of models is not varied though! :P

I wasn't expecting to find such nice shoes...the title of the post kind of threw me off. Nice !!
This is a very interesting product. Working on a school project Think we may have a more secure design hmmm :)...wonder what else the market thinks?

As an aversary to this idea, heels have to endure a great amount of stress and wear in the normal walking process which causes even the stablest of heels to falter. Using these designs doesn't seem to address the long term wear factor. Once the high heel position is used, the tip becomes worn and may become disfigured and expanded, which may prohibit the adjustment to the low heel position. The reverse seems to carry the same concerns for the low heel. The heels themselves are always going to look scuffed up, especially in the high heel position. This factor on it own discourages my consideration to wear them. What about when you are forced to walk in areas other than the sidewalk and other non- flat and/or firm surfaces? If these type of shoes are suppose to be the option for driving heels, they seem to be to much of a bother and more of an irritant. I have worn reasonably high heels while driving and I have never had a problem.
