I have been shaving for over 12 years. It started as a joke but I found out I like it. It has gotten easier over the years and does not itch any more. I shave anywhere between one and 4 days. I try to keep up with it daily as it feels better. My wife loves it, she says it is much better than all that hair. She also shaves. It is nice seeing the two shaved areas together. The only comment I have had from the medical profession was from one nurse who was preparing me for a procedure was "you really are shaved there aren't you". So try it you will like it.

So, i just shaved it for my very first time. I am 16 years old and sexually active. The first thing I did, was hop in the shower, get a disposable razor and just shave all my pubic hair off. I shaved my shaft as well. I didn't do it perfect because I was ancious to do it and I didn't have the best tools. I recommend for first time shavers tho, you use a razor blade (any kind) just make sure you have warm water at your disposal and make sure you get everything even the peach fuzz because it is uncomfortable...

Been smooth for over 30 years now.
It started as a joke. My wife did it to me one night as a playful thing to do, over my objections, but since I was tied down and she was sitting on my chest I could not resist her *LOL*. But she made it worth while to me afterwards so I didn't complain too much. I love her so much I'd really give her anything she asks for and she doesn't ask for much so what the heck.

To stop the itch you need to shave the area on a regular basis. Just like shaving the face,if you let it grow the beard tends to be itchy until it grows in fully. I shave my pubic area daily and have no itch also after each shave use a lotion.

Used to shave, not doing it atm since i don't have a steady gf and one nighters aren't worth the trouble to be honest.
My face is very sensitive to shaving as well, so i use two sets of the best razors i can buy and a creamy aftershave for sensitive skin for both places (not the same ones, ofc). It might cost more than the typical razor blades, but considering the sensitivity it's worth it, trust me.
Basically make sure the area is warm (hot towel, hot shower, etc.), use good products (blades, cream, aftershave or whatever, even powder works - NO MINT OR SIMILAR SHIT - or anything else you might think could help), and ideally do it on a daily basis.
The first time it was itchy, but it completely passed after 2 days. If done daily, in most cases there shouldn't be any problems. If you let it grow back, it will be a bit longer, stiffer and well, hairier.
People asking how much time it needs to grow back: it's not an exact timeline, since hair grows at a different rate for everyone. My hair grows quite fast, so in a few weeks things were back to normal down there.
Women tend to like it better, spend more time and try new things, so i'm guessing it's more of a turn on. But at the end of the day it's a matter of personal preference, so some might call you a fag (happened once to me, didn't stop things though)

Here is a good tip. I used to have like 3 inch long pubes and it was interesting, but I wasn't a huge fan. What you have to do is first trim it, not too short, probably to about half an inch... You at least need to be able to see under skin. Then you wait until that initial itch stops, takes a couple of hours to a day, it isn't a painful or really irritating itch, you may just find yourself itching the south pole more than usual. Then when the itch stops, go in and trim as close to the skin as possible. Then lather some sensitive skin shaving cream (which you can buy for like $2) and get to work. I just did that and there is no itch at all! There is my input.
Also, pubic hair shaving is for everyone, not just the sexually active. It is actually a good idea to keep down there short because in the summer or if you live in a warm climate you sweat an awful lot... And the penis/scrotum area just has this... Smell to it that you may hate... It smells like sweat caught in fat rolls. And that is mainly because of your hair because it retains the sweat and gives an odd smell.

I am 55 and have shaved since I was 25. I shaved for a surgery and liked the soft feel. My first wife liked it. My second wife loves it, and a half a dozen ladies in between also liked it. I start with a nice hot shower. Then end with a shave. I use a multi-blade razor and womens shave gel. I have had my share of nicks and abarasions...but love the results as does my wife, who also shaves. I find that every other day works for me. I used to be concerned about others reactions, such as doctors, nurses, shower room jokes, etc. But, I only have myself and my wife to be concerned about. My suggestion is, give it a try, it's great. Two years later, I switched to a manual razor, a now I have super smooth, hair free balls and I love it.

The shave was close alright (I did everything: pubis, balls, shaft, scrotum etc...), but I ended up with so much PAIN when walking that I worked from home for a day. It definitely has been subsiding as I've kept shaving each day after that, only following the hair growth direction.
I can tell it will all end well, but boy, what an unpleasant way to start!

Truly useful. For all the guys that asked about itching, try Clarins hand lotion for men. Yes, hand lotion. When you are done shaving, use some of this lotion. It's not oily or heavy and feels great and prevents the itching. It is just great lotion!

Im 17 and first took the razor down there 2 or three years ago. Of course I had seen it on porn and just became intrigued. This time, though, I had more of a plan...I used the electric beard trimmer at the end of a wilkinson blade to trim down as close to the skin as possible. That way there weren't any long pubes to get caught. This was luckily a blood free experience! However, for some reason I wanted to be artistic and left a sort of landing strip in the middle. I loved the continuation of my snail trail to my crotch. It looked pretty cool. You should try it! Then I started shaving against 'the grain' which was a bit more tricky and bloody, but i simply slapped on loads of baby oil which is supposed to make it smooth and help the bumps and notches from shaving... I was wandering if it did it more often it wouldn't have bumps or blood so will try it everyday In the shower. If anyone has any advice, just comment!

This worked for me! For those guys not sure whether to shave off all the bush, use a beard trimmer and cut it down to 50%. If liked reduce another 50% and so on
over a fews days if you like. Do trim shaft, scrotum and anus down to 1 or 2mm followed by a new multiblade razor in the shower using body gel. You will now appear to be at least an inch bigger! You can also shave down base of shaft at sides and continue a blade width (more if you like) in groin. This will automatically leave a tidy shaped "landing strip" leaving a smooth path at either side. Bonus is that if like me you wear very small snug swim briefs there are no hairs to escape! I have been experimenting and to get the smoothest ever feel, shave everything off in the shower and then when dry, apply mens talc and dry shave against the grain with the same multiblade razor keeping the skin taught - the look and feel is amazing with very little risk of snicks and it is slower to grow back - if anyone trys this let me know that it works for you! If you still don't like it, leave it a month and it will be back to normal!
Hello i shaved for the very first time today, and what i recommend it going in the shower using shampoo on your pubical hairs and than with scissors cut as much of the hair as you possibly can because it will get to hurt a little once you are done taking your shower.Once you are done taking your shower get a razor and stroke the hair 3 times then wash the hair because it will get stuck on your razor and wipe it off with a towel. Continue on until you are complete. Then get lotion and apply plentiful!
